Welsh Rarebit (Sometimes called Welsh Rabbit)


Ingredients:

1 cup beer
1 teaspoon dry mustard powder
1 teaspoon Worcester sauce
1/2 to 3/4 pound grated Cheddar cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
4 to 6 slices white bread, sliced thickly


Instructions:


Put the beer, mustard and Worcester sauce in a saucepan and heat over medium heat until boiling.

Slowly blend in the cheese, and whisk until thick and smooth.

Season with salt and pepper to taste, and set aside.

Lightly toast the bread.

Pour the cheese mix over the toast, and place under the broiler(grill) until the cheese is bubbly and brown.

Serve while hot (Serves 2 to 3 people)
